These meets are to also help your swimmer with goal direction and make their practices more meaningful.  It is important for new and younger swimmers to participate in these meets.
Some Additional Information for the Parents

If you need to submit additional information, use the following text box.
For your young swimmer to get the most out of these meets, we offer the following best practice interaction:
1.  Make sure you let the swimmer participate in the events selection and entry process.
2.  Make sure you swimmer arrives in time to participate in the meet warm-up procedures.
3.  Push your swimmer to participate, but DO NOT push your swimmer to high levels of performance.  Their coaches will take care of the push for performances when the development and readiness have arrived!
4.  If your swimmer performance poorly or "perceives" that they have not done well, encourage them with, "You will do better next time!"
5.  When swimmers are young or just beginning it is easy to do best times, almost ever time they race.  However, after swimmers have developed to a more advanced level and have good times, it is much more of a challenge to do best times.  Expectations should be reasonable, and the long run will be better with the realization that improvement at the more advanced levels involves lots of goal direction and patients.
6. While we want your swimmer to achieve and be a great swimmer, having fun at meets is a major objective of this part of the program.  We need to develop that association between FUN and ACHIEVEMENT!  ITS GOOD TO BE FAST!!
7.  We want you to join your coaches in making our program MEANINGFUL, while remaining EDUCATIONALLY SOUND!  When in doubt, be POSITIVE!
8.  Parents should help with staging:  timing, results, facilities, etc.

Awards:  Heat Ribbons for each swimmer.  Medals for swimmers who enter using this form by Thursday evening, September 25th; improve upon their best time in the team data base.  If you do not have a time in the data base, then you can try for a medal at the next meet!
